Syria has a major penis problem! If you haven't been watching CNN or the nightly news, you probably missed the news. Assad's death squads tortured a 13 year old boy and cut off his penis. This has reinvigorated the protests and demonstrators and has reminded them why they are out protesting. They want to see an end to the humiliation, oppresion and lack of human rights and dignity.
Hamza Al Khateeb was a 13 year old boy who got picked up at the end of April by Assad's security apparatus. Why a security apparatus is interested in picking up, detaining, and torturing little boys is unknown. Warning! Extremely Graphic!

The situation in Syria is deteriorating rapidly. The economy is faltering and people are starting to feel it. Americans vote their pocketbooks, and Syrians probably do too.
The world has reacted with everything they can do. They have placeed travel bans, sanctions, arms embargoes, and are proceeding toward an indictment in the International Criminal Court. Can the world do anything else?

As the unrest in Syria continues, local residents gathered to show their support for the people of their homeland in Charleston, West Virginia.
CHARLESTON -- Syrian-Americans held an informational rally and gathering on the south side of the state capitol Sunday evening.
Around 100 people held signs and chanted slogans, all in a effort to raise awareness about what is going on in Syria.
