Many people may not understand why all these videos are coming out showing Syrians being beaten by the military, shabeeha, security forces or mukhabarat. Yes, there are that many armed units. Some are civilian spies, while others are just trained thugs. Watch the videos:

Our sources inside Syria have confirmed that, in anticipation of Friday protests, the Syrian security forces and army have sealed off all major roads leading into and out of Damascus. No one will be getting in, no one will be getting out. The regime is scared that people from neighboring cities will try to enter and rally with the pro-freedom crowds.

As Syrians keep waiting for Aleppo to fully commit to the protest movement, small demonstrations, the latest numbering around 500 participants and lasting for a couple of hours before being dispersed by security, continue to take place in the northern bastion on a daily basis as more and more people break the barrier of fear and try to encourage others to join. Will tomorrow witness the resurrection of Aleppo? We shall find out soon.
