As the unrest in Syria continues, local residents gathered to show their support for the people of their homeland in Charleston, West Virginia.
CHARLESTON -- Syrian-Americans held an informational rally and gathering on the south side of the state capitol Sunday evening.
Around 100 people held signs and chanted slogans, all in a effort to raise awareness about what is going on in Syria.
According to CBS News, the unrest which began in January is the largest protest against the government ever in Syria and hundreds of have been killed.
